This was the first time I’ve ever shot a proposal, so that was cool in itself, but it was much more than that for many different reasons. First: Jenna is my sister. Secondly: Troy is one of my best friends. Thirdly: They’re getting married. How weird and awesome and so badass is that? They have a connection to that crappy Dear John movie (they both read it when Troy was in Iraq in 2008), so he decided to propose after seeing that movie. Earlier in the day we scoped out the location so Troy had his marker set, and at around 8:45pm I snuck around in the bushes like a creepy molester with a huge camera while I waited for them to come out of the theater. So Troy did the deed (she said yes) then we headed over to my parents’ house to share the good news. The pics of my mom screaming are some of my favorites of the bunch. Sis, bro: congratulations, everyone else: enjoy. I really can’t express how excited and happy I am for you both, but I hope these pics do it some justice. I love you all.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’m not a pretty crier. But words can’t express how happy I am that you were there to capture this. I love you, Ryan. I love Troy. And I love my ring.
AMAZING… I cannot wait to do something like this…
LOL…I love the shot of Dad inspecting the ring. Congrats to your sis.

Ryan, thanks for allowing us to share in that night even though we aren’t in town. The phone call from the kids was great but these pics allow us to feel like we shared in the night on some level. Thanks.

p.s.– it should read just LIKE your mom and dad……I love it.. I keep going back and looking at the expression on Jenna face…priceless
Ryan you have the stamina and patience of a predator in wait!!
Slow breathing, balanced and focused. (no pun intended) Your capture of Jenna is nothing less than magical, but your capture of Troy’s “beaming” face upon Jenna, radiating true love, respect and admiration is nothing less than genuine. That combination is what brought tears to MY eyes. I hope your not retired by the time my kids get married. LOL.
Love Love Love it! Super cute family Ryan
I have no idea how I found this. I grew up next to “Carlitos” and have known him since he was 4. I went to Linda and Carl’s wedding. What a BEAUTIFUL tribute to your sister!! What a beautiful lady. Give Rob and my best to your folks, good luck to the engaged couple and keep up the EXCELLENT work!! You are gifted boy!!
