2010 PHOTO INTERN WANTED

Hi there friends, Ryan here. As I move into an exciting new year of weddings, bands, and commercial work, I’ll be looking for a photo intern to join us here at RCJones Photography. We expanded significantly in 2009 and ready for a new team member to join us as we grow in 2010.Your job will be to assist me at weddings as second photographer, and as lighting assistant for portraits and commercial work. You must have weekends open and be willing to work all day (Saturdays mostly).

Our wedding work is strongly journalistic, so those with an eye, interest, or education in documentary-style photography will have an advantage in attaining the position. And because of difficult lighting situations at many weddings you must have f/2.8 or faster lenses, primes preferred, and a digital SLR that produces at least 10-12 megapixels of resolution. I’m a Nikon shooter, but I don’t care what you shoot on as long as your images are thoughtful and in focus.

If you would like to apply for the position please email me at ryan@rcjonesphotography.com with ten strong images from your portfolio (2000 pixels at the longest side) and a quick introduction about yourself including your photography background and equipment. Please do not submit any landscape or still life images since I am only interested in seeing how you work with people. Portrait and commercial work will be unpaid, but weddings will be considered based off talent, experience and ability. Qualified candidates will be asked for an in-studio interview.

Alrighty, thanks everyone! I look forward to hearing from you, and if you have any questions you can reach us at 559-593-5073.

  5. Dear Mr. Ryan Hawt-Carl Jones,

I am a first year student at the Darden Graduate School of Business and I am writing to convey my interest in your 2010 Photo Internship. My exploratory usage with my camera phone and my enthusiasm for Zoolander poses, make me firmly believe that I am an ideal candidate.

Ultimately, I believe I will be an asset to your firm through the skills I have gained from my past work experiences and from my MBA training at Darden. In particular, my faux-hawk, my American Apparel tri-color Ts, and my proven ability to be a wing-man will allow me to assist RCJones Photography in its efforts to provide the most awesomeness pictures possible.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
    Sincerely,
    Rafael Schnitzler
